Name is Cory Texter. I have been around motorcycles my entire life. I started riding at four years old and started racing full-time at 15 years old. My Dad took my sister and I racing every weekend, all across the country. I quickly progressed through the ranks and got my professional AMA Pro Flat Track license in 2008 and my AMA Pro Road Racing License in 2013. I am currently a competitor in the AMA Pro Flat Track series where I race and run my own team, Cory Texter Racing.
I got involved in marketing and promotion when I was about 16 years old. I thought getting free stuff was awesome and promoting my sponsors at the track was essential to growing in the sport. I slowly learned that promotion off the track was equally as important as my results on the track.
Aside from racing and marketing, I am also a Journalist for Cycle World Magazine. I never thought of myself as a writer, but seeing something I have written published in a print magazine is pretty cool. Plus, I like to send them to my English teachers in high school who said motorcycle racing wouldn’t get me anywhere in life.
In 2013, I created and co-hosted my own online talk show called Flat Track Weekly Radio alongside my partner, Scottie “Hollywood” Deubler. In 2016, I temporarily discontinued to the show to focus on my racing career. Some of our guests to date have been Scott Parker, Chris Carr, Bubba Shobert, Jay Springsteen, Jared Mees, Kenny Coolbeth, Brad Baker, George Roeder II, and Kenny Tolbert. You can find the archived podcasts on iTunes.
Some people know me as, “Shaynas Brother” and there is nothing wrong with that. It’s pretty cool having a really fast little sister sometimes (ShaynaTexter.com), except when she beats me but I try my best to not let that happen.
Motorcycles have always been a big part of my life. Actually, it’s all I know in life. Thanks to all my family, friends, sponsors and fans for the continued support. See you at the race track!
