“Our challenge in life is to use the abilities we have, and to compensate for the abilities we don’t have. Successful people compensate for what they don’t have. Unsuccessful people make excuses, blame everyone else and never get past the deficiencies.”
It’s been a roller coaster ride to start the 2017 season. We have had some good races with a couple All-Star series main event wins and a win in Daytona Beach at the Concrete Clash of the Coast. We have also had some bad races. We broke a shifter in the main event at the American Flat Track season opener at the Daytona International Speedway. We lost a chain on the last lap at Round 2 of the AFT series in Woodstock, Georgia. At Round 3 in Charlotte, I just couldn’t find a set-up I was comfortable with and struggled all night long finishing in the back of the main event. We learned a lot about the motorcycles at these first three races and we will dig deep to make the necessary changes to ensure we are more competitive on these tracks in the future.
A big thank you to my sponsors for making the 2017 season happen and joining me on this journey. Also, a thank you to my wife Amber, my mechanic Justin and to all my family, friends and fans. Let’s get after it!
