Every once in a while, I come across a product that I am so stoked on that I decide to write up a little review on my website. The Oakley Airbrake™ MX goggle is one of those products.
I have worn just about every brand of goggle over the years. I have always thought there were flaws within the design of each brand, but I never noticed anything specific regarding the problems with other goggles until I wore the Oakley Airbrake™.
The coolest thing about the Oakley Airbrake™ is how easy it is to change your lens. With all the modern technology in the world, it’s ironic that other goggle companies haven’t found an easier way to change lenses over the years. You know what I am talking about though. The brands where you have to snap out the lens with force and then slide and bend the lens to fit into each hole around the frame. Some of the holes are sized weird so they never really fit like they should and you end up getting dirt in your eyes the first time you get a bad start in one your motos.
On each side of the Airbrake™ goggle, there is a little lever that utilizes Switchlock™ technology that makes it very quick and easy to change your lens. With this design, it keeps out all the dirt so the last thing you have to worry about is pulling off the track because you have mud or dust in your eyes.
Going to the lens itself, the Oakley Airbrake™ uses a Prizm™ lens which help you see subtle transitions in dirt conditions so you can master all those split-second decisions. With high-impact resistance that makes you invincible, this landmark of technology is the first even MX design with a lens of pure Plutonite™.
The price on these goggles is $190, but they are worth every penny. You don’t realize how crummy your other goggles are until you buy the Oakley Airbrake™ goggle.
